Last week, our CEO Luigi Aurisicchio attended the 4th Consortium Meeting of the MIRIA EU Project in Prague, hosted by Charles University. Takis, alongside valuable partners from across Europe, holds a central role in this initiative.
The MIRIA project aims to develop wide-range antimicrobial nanocoatings for surfaces used in environments such as hospitals, where cross-contamination and contagion risks are significant.
At Takis, we are responsible for assessing the antiviral properties of these nanocoatings by evaluating viral infectivity on mammalian cells after prolonged exposure to coated or uncoated materials.
Our work aims to determine the nanocoatings’ ability to neutralize the virus in laboratory settings, with the goal of selecting the best candidates for pilot-scale production and potential market entry within three years.
This meeting provided the opportunity to engage with our European partners and discuss the project developments and milestones achieved so far.
Being part of such a diverse and talented consortium is truly enriching, offering us valuable opportunities for learning and growth!
